How to Plan a Home Party for your MLM Home Business

One of the keys to running a successful network marketing business is planning a great home party. It’s essential for some businesses – your direct sales company won’t sell anything unless you have people over and get them excited about the product. Home parties are also vital for networking and introducing potential clients to your MLM business, so you need to be a great host.

But being a great host means you have to plan and clean and get your materials ready and go to the grocery store and … and … and …! The list goes on. Stop fretting! Here’s to-do checklist of what you have to do when:

Three weeks before

  • Set a date and organize your guest list

Two weeks before

  • Invite your guests, making sure they know when and where the party is.
  • Begin work on your party plan. Start organizing needed materials and write an outline of what you’re going to present and when.

One week before

  • If the party is in your home, decide on what snacks you’ll serve your guests. Make a list of goods needed.
  • Finalize your party plan. By the end of this week you should know exactly what you’re going to present and how you’ll show it.
  • Make sure everyone in your household has a plan to be elsewhere during your party.

One day before

  • Make sure your home is party-ready. Messiness detracts from you and your presentation. Run the vaccum, do the laundy, stuff everything in a closet – just make sure your space is tidy so that the attention can be on you!
  • Gather your materials. Make sure you know where everything is so you’re not running around the day of your party.

The day of

  • Set the stage. Allow yourself plenty of time to set up your materials. Make sure they can be seen by your clients. Remember to put snacks and drinks in an easily accessible spot!
  • Make sure you have a place to put pets during your presentation and that your spouse and/or children have a plan to be out of the house – or at least stay quietly in another room.
  • Relax! If you’re anxious about selling, give yourself a few moments to remember what excites you about your product. Find your confidence – it will help you sell.

During your party

  • Circulate! Once you’ve presented your materials, make sure you’re accessible to your guest. Don’t just talk to your neighbor or the client you’ve done business with before. Reach out to new faces and make them feel comfortable.
  • Try not to think about the sale. Instead focus on relaying the excitement your have for your network marketing business and its products to your guests. The sale is sure to follow!
