Choosing a Network Marketing Company
You’re interested in multilevel marketing, but are skeptical. Your instincts are right. While there are some stellar companies out there, plenty of duds exist, too.
You have to do your research. After all, you want to find a company that you can build big and retire. You can do it if you find the right match.
First, determine whether the business will it be profitable for a part-timer? Ninety-five percent of all network marketing reps are part-timers. If it’s not profitable for them, how will you have retention in your organization?
Check out what it costs to run this home based business. Consider whether the company’s overhead affects your profit. For example, if a company’s overhead is responsible for jacking up the cost of the products it will hurt you in the long run. Does the business have employees working in an office? Offices cost money and those costs will be passed on in the products you sell.
Visit the business’s web site to see if it’s a user-friendly retail site. You want your customers to be able to order products easily. Having a secure checkout is also key. If the site is too confusing or not trustworthy, customers won’t use it and you’ll lose sales.
Another question to answer is how many reps do you have to sign up in order to earn $10,000 a month. In some companies, it can take as many as 3,500. Get real – could you really do that?!
Of course, there are the basics. You need to believe in the products you’re selling. Try one or two out during your research. If you don’t think it works, you probably can’t sell it. Your enthusiasm for the business just won’t be there.
Finally, read the company’s policies and procedures. Sometimes they aren’t readily available, so you may have to ask for them. Never join a network marketing company without doing this – it’s your contract with the business. For instance, some contracts have key words like ‘ongoing’ or ‘continued performance’ which basically mean you can never retire. That would put a damper on your ‘build it big and retire plan’ wouldn’t it?
